I met Taryn about 20 years ago on the playground. We didn’t know each other, we weren’t friends. We just went to the same school. As is with all school friends, we are now Facebook friends. We stalk pictures of each other’s kids. We struck up a conversation a few months ago, and realized that we should have been friends all along. She’s hilarious, she’s witty, she’s drop-dead-gorgeous, she’s fun, she’s full of life, she’s stylish, she has amazing hair, and she’s such a joyful person.
When she asked me to photograph her little family while I was in California, I was pumped. Not only do I want to steal her baby because he is so stinkin’ cute, I got to hang out with T & her husband. And I adored them. I love this job because of the people I meet, and the Myers were no exception. Enjoy their Sunset Cliffs family session!
I don’t mean to brag, but my little tribe is pretty hip. I am a snob about their clothes. There. I said it. When I come across adorable online children’s clothing boutiques, I’m like a moth to a flame. Enter: Hip Little Tribe.
Their onesies are darling, comfortable & true to size. When I begin working with a company, I have no idea who I am going to be meeting or working with. I can tell you that I love love love businesses with a heart & a purpose. This is the heartbeat of HLT:
Supporting various causes through hip and positive apparel.

Each month, Hip Little Tribe features families who have children who have experienced struggles from illness. We will be donating a portion of proceeds towards their medical bills for the entire month. Please email stories to firstname.lastname@example.org.”
As a photographer & mom of 3 stupidly beautiful children, I have had the privilege of working with many vendors who gift us some AMAZING pretty things to feature on my blogs.
I’ll be honest, most days, my big girl camera sits on my dresser, under a pile of clean clothes, unused. I am too busy wiping butts, noses & faces to take the time to lay on the floor, outside my kid’s bedrooms waiting for the perfect shot. Occasionally, I make those shots happen. The beauty of people sending us pretty things to model is that it forces me to take the camera out, and now, those pictures are in my family yearbooks forever.
This week, I want to brag on The Wild Purple. I can’t tell you how much these women have blessed my family with such fun stuff. When they heard about the boys’ Cowboys & Indians party, they immediately asked if they could make a special cowboy bunting for the party. I, obviously, said yes immediately!
In addition to some cute scarves and the bunting, they sent the most darling head pieces for Maddie & I.
